I used it an assessment over the skills of creating and supporting claims related to characterization. In my class, we first read Forgotten Fire and analyzed Vahan throughout it. In order to see that they could analyze characterization outside of just that book, they then applied that skill to the movie. They really enjoyed the movie - which was a perk to this activity - and we able to analyze

This is a really fun activity and super helpful for getting those students who are typically very quiet involved. In this activity, students reflect on what they have learned or noticed within Adam Bagdasarian's novel, Forgotten Fire. During the activity, students read the sheet of paper, write a response, and then pass it to the next person. As they pass it around they can respond to each other or develop ideas. Teaching style

I am working towards outcome-based teaching where I use standards-based grading to assess my students. This means as I teach, we review the standards through objectives, written as "I can" statements. Although not all of my products will list this information, many of them will use this kind of break down somewhere with it.
