This is a week-long, teacher-tested primary weather unit bursting with super resources including comprehensive lesson plans for each day. Lesson plans include science activities/experiments, art projects, read aloud suggestions, and writing responses for the sun, wind, clouds, rain and rainbows. Lesson plans have photographs of samples of art projects, step-by-step directions for activities, full color posters highlighting key concepts of each lesson, and several reproducible printables for s
It's time to explore apples! This unit focuses on fun, hands-on, inquiry-based science activities that revolve around apples. I was tired of sifting through apple units and activities in my teacher resource books that were really only reading or math activities with an apple picture on them, so I created this apple unit for science. I hope that it's useful to you and your students.
Here is what's included (experiments and activities include recording sheets, some are differentiated):

A wonderful weather experiment for your mini-meteorologists! This is a one page document that features a table with items to place in front of a fan. Students predict whether or not the items listed on the table will be blown by the wind created by a fan. Then, an adult helps students test each object.
This free download includes three graphic organizers that are perfect for a primary unit on bears. Included are
1. A bear life cycle organizer.
2. "Facts About Bears" web style graphic organizer with more support- fill-in the blank sentences.
3. "Facts About Bears" web style graphic organizer with less support (students fill in each fact independently).

Enjoy these freebies!
This is a fun addition to your math curriculum for Halloween week, or it may help you spice up a science unit on pumpkins! Students measure the height of a pumpkin with cubes, the circumference with a string, the weight with a scale, and test if their pumpkin will sink or float. This could be done in a large group or center format. Hope your little pumpkins have a blast with this hands-on exploration activity!

This little freebie includes two differentiated levels for a class book page that goes along with the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin, Jr. It also includes a writing sheet for students to compare real bears (living) to teddy bears or cartoon bears (non-living). There is also a page with the words for the "Fuzzy Wuzzy" tongue twister, which I use for students' poetry journals.
Hope it is useful for a primary unit on bears or teddy bears!
