About the store

Experience

I am presently in my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught business and computer courses, as well as various computer literacy classes. I focus on Personal Finance and Life Skills in my class to provide the students with real-world applications. I am currently teaching Business Fundamentals and Marketing. I have also taught computers at the elementary level. I love to teach hands-on activities that engage the students in their self-learning.

Teaching style

I believe the old Chinese Proverb “Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.” I think students learn best by doing; therefore, kinesthetic activities need to be implemented as much as possible. The more student independent activities that can be incorporated into the curriculum the better.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am a member of several professional organizations and have attended a number of professional worksheets including NBEA, MBEA, SBEA, and ACTE. I am the 2019 Teacher of year in my school district. I am also a National Board Certified teacher.

My own education history

I am a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi. I have a Master's Degree in Business Technology Education with a minor in Instructional Technology. I am an NBCT! I have been awarded Teacher of the Year and have served in a variety of other jobs in my school district.

Additional biographical information

I spend a number of hours each week formatting my own ideas on the lessons I teach. Planning and proper implementation are vital in the successful classroom.
