Simple Enzyme Lab (Catalase Activity)

Created by
Lab207
This simple lab allows students to safely investigate the activity of the enzyme catalase on hydrogen peroxide. Through this experiment students will study the effects of temperature and pH on the activity of the enzyme. All needed supplies can be cheaply purchased at a local grocery store and the equipment needed in the lab is very minimal. Download includes fully editable student handout with all necessary directions.

Teaching style

My classes are a continual work in progress. Presently every course I teach is either "flipped" or 100% PBL. When My classes are not pursuing some sort of inquiry activity we are generally engaged in discussion and application. Additional biographical information

Teaching is what I was built to do. I have a passion for student engagement and relevant education. My goal is to never hear one of my students ask, "When will I ever use this?" I work long days and nights to put together resources that force students to engage and think.
