Jeopardy with a little extra added fun! (Can be used for regular Jeopardy OR Trashketball.) Usually a full game will take two 50-minute class periods. Rules for Trashketball: -Split students into teams. -Use the board to play Jeopardy in normal style. -If teams get their question right, they shoot a wad of paper at the trash can for bonus points! I mark different distances on the floor for different amounts of points. For me, they don't lose points for missing but they get the bonus points if th

Monty Hall Problem - Group Activity

Students work in groups to figure out the answer to the Monty Hall Problem (you know, from Let's Make A Deal.. 2 goats, 1 car... ) You will need cards for each group: 2 number cards for the goats, 1 face card for the car. Basic probability and converting (fraction, decimal, percent) as well as critical thinking and reflection. I highly recommend finding a good Let's Make A Deal or Monty Hall YouTube video to show as an introduction for the activity. BUT - don't reveal the answer ahead of time!!

Google Slides project for students. For each integer (6 total integers) students must complete 2 tasks: 1) Create context (a story) for the integer. 2) Create a number line graph of the integer and its opposite. Most of my students like to create their number lines in an app that's more user-friendly for drawing (like Sketches School) then insert their drawing onto the slide as an image. But it is possible to complete this all using only Google Slides. It's also fun to see what kinds of stories
