Meant for Spanish 1, this is a great menu reading activity that has students match descriptions of foods and then answer comprehension questions in English and Spanish. There are also two higher level opinion questions included to have students express their opinions. I made this worksheet with Asi Se Dice chapter 4 vocabulary in mind, but it can be used effectively with any curriculum.

This resource is a family tree with questions about Selena Quintanilla and her family. Even if your students have not studied Selena, this activity can work in your classroom because they are reading the family tree and then looking up information about the family. This speaking activity is an easy way to scaffold students using the target language. After you have already introduced the verb tener as well as vocab about the family, use this activity to have them practice both. Students will ask their classmates questions and once they have completed that, there is a follow up writing extension activity so they can practice writing sentences using tener in the s/he form. This worksheet helps review the key information about the subjunctive. Including the irregulars (DISHES) and the uses for subjunctive (WEIRDO). There is also some practice conjugating and the steps to conjugate in the subjunctive.

I made this food chat mat for Spanish class to talk about what students eat in a day. They can talk about breakfast, lunch, dinner, and their snacks. This lesson plan accompanies the short film by Disney named Paperman. The key grammar structure that is emphasized during the lesson is the correct conjugation of stem changing verbs. I drew this worksheet so student can practice some of the irregulars in the preterite tense. Students pick a spot by conjugating the verb correctly in the given space. Students complete the weather forecast for a week using the template. They choose a city in a Spanish speaking country and complete the forecast by writing the forecast, drawing the forecast, writing the date and temperature in Spanish.
