About the store
I am a 5th year teacher. I spent my first two years working in Great Bend, KS and am now working in the Salem-Keizer School district. Right now my experience consists of a lot of trial and error, but I LOVE figuring out how to better my teaching both for myself and the benefit of my students. While the bulk of my job is teaching general music to my K-5 students, I also have an after school choir with my 4th and 5th grade students. It is definitely a highlight in my day! UPDATE: I am currently taking time off from teaching to raise my family. While I will still keep my store up and running, I may be slower to respond to questions and comments. I apologize in advance and promise I WILL be checking in from time to time.

Patriotic/Monthly Song Sing-a-long Bundle

In my music classroom, we sing a different Patriotic song each month. I use a slide show so that all the students can see the words. Each day a different child comes up and switches the slide. It's a great way to designate a "helper" in the music classroom! This bundle includes over 12 songs (most are Patriotic but there a few odd ball folk songs in there that I like to throw in throughout the year): 1. God Bless America 2. America the Beautiful 3. This Land is Your Land 4. Anchors Aweigh! 5.

Because this is visual high low practice for the kids, I have also included some supplemental ideas for singing and hearing high and low. However, that's

Teaching style

I just received my Kodaly Level I certification from Portland State University. I had the privilege of learning under some incredible musicians and pedagogists including Susan Brumfield, Carol Brown, Andy Paney, Panni Kovacs, and Kurt Cereske. It has been such an incredible experience and I will go back to complete my certification in the following summers.
