About the store
I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education and began my career as a a second grade teacher. During that time, I obtained my Master's Degree in Library Science and became the Media Specialist for my school. During my seventeen years in education, I discovered a passion for designing digital learning experiences. I enjoy incorporating multimedia into my learning designs and finding ways to meet the needs and learning styles of all learners. I strive to make my learning experiences engaging while also effectively teaching the objectives at hand. I left education to pursue a full-time career as a learning designer. Currently I am a learning designer for a higher-education institution. This role has honed my skills of analyzing learning needs, writing strong objectives, designing and developing effective learning experiences, and evaluating the effectiveness of each learning experience. When I'm not creating digital experiences for the college audience, I still enjoy designing a variety of learning for students in K-12.

Book-It Reading Incentive

This incentive was created specifically for students in grades 1-2. This can be used by classroom teachers or media specialists as a fairly easy way to motivate students to read. During a nine week quarter (or whatever time frame you prefer) students will choose books to read. After reading a book, they can fill out a "Book-It" sheet where they: For Fiction: Draw a pic of the main character, tell the main character's name, and tell at least one thing about the main character from the story.

Teaching style

I incorporate a variety of multimedia into my learning experiences. I strive to effectively present content in a way that benefits all learning styles. With each learning experience I create, I have the students in mind. Will they find the experience engaging? Will they learn the material? Will they be able to apply the learning?
