Use these menus as reading response menus for your students. Depending on how you run things in your classroom, students can respond once they finish a book or after they finish reading a portion of the book. Having activities to complete after reading make sure that there is accountability for reading - without the daily reading log. I'm a firm believer that students should spend most of their time READING - and not writing about what they've read, recording the minutes they've read, rating the books they've read on a scale from 1-5, etc. This free read & response was created to allow students the some opportunity for choice, and yet also hold the students to some accountability for reading at home. Practice key math vocabulary terms with your students by speaking "Mathlish" with them! Students will see a key term, and describe it to a peer without using that word in it's description! You can play this game similar to HeadBandz - where the child places the term on their head and their partner describes, or you can play where you pick up a card and describe it to your partner, and if they get it you place it into a "got it" pile, and if not, the "review" pile. Experience

I am an advocate for anywhere anytime learning! I have taught in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms.

Teaching style

I believe in the power of relationships. Once students feel comfortable, safe, and loved - they are willing and ready to take the risks necessary to learn in the classroom. I like to use collaborative groupings, turn and talk, and meaningful integration of technology in the classroom so that students can learn from one another and the world around them.

My own education history
