A fun variation of the getting to know you game, where you step across the line if the speaker says something that pertains to you. This is a predictable routine for students that can gives all students a chance to share about their exciting time away from school in a structured and safe way. Students are able to chat with peers (which they’ve been dying to do!) and are empowered that they have something to talk about, as all they have to do is step forward if something applies to them instead

This activity was designed as a collaboration activity between a first grade and second grade classroom. Teachers hid 96 easter eggs, which inside contained math facts. All addition and subtraction facts had an answer of 12, 13, or 14 which could be recorded in a tally graph. Students then collected six eggs (or pieces of data) and then turned their tally chart into a bar graph. After creating a bar graph, students wrote two sentences to analyze the chart.
