These Slides explain the directions and expectations for making a mind mirror (QTEL strategy) to represent a character in Romeo and Juliet. The project looks specifically at the characters' state of mind at the end of Act 3, when Romeo leaves for Mantua. Included in the Slides is a link to a planning page for students to map out what will be included on their poster.

This is a very basic graphic organizer and pre-writing page for my 9th grade English Learners below ACCESS level 2.0. The packet includes an assignment description, a graphic organizer, and a fill-in pre-writing sheet. The pre-writing sheet covers three paragraphs: introduction and thesis, one body paragraph, and a conclusion.

Experience

I have taught both adult and elementary-aged English Learners in mainstream and sheltered classrooms. I even taught second grade for a year! I'm now teaching high school English Learners of all different ability levels and backgrounds.

Teaching style

I like my class to be fun and interactive! I strive to incorporate Sheltered Instruction Observational Protocol (SIOP) strategies into my teaching. I love doing projects and hands-on activities, as well an incorporating multicultural literature and other resources to celebrate my students' diversity.
