Binder Checklist Cards

This product is designed to be used as an independent work station where students work on organizing their belongings to stay on top of their school work. Simply print the cards on your choice of paper and have students self-monitor if they have their binder "up-to-snuff" with classroom/school expectations. In my classroom, I have them printed on regular paper so that students can write directly on them. They do this task AT LEAST once a week in order to align with IEP data collection and with m

Experience

Special education and Deaf/hard of hearing teacher with a passion for emotional/behavioral self-regulation, social skills, and language! I taught students with emotional/behavioral disabilities in a resource-style program for two years and I currently teach students that are Deaf/hard of hearing.

Teaching style

I believe that students must take ownership of their learning before they can be successful. My goal is to empower my students with the social/behavioral and communication skills they need to be successful in their general education classes (and in their futures), so that they no longer need my support. If I set my expectations high, my students will meet them! More than anything, if I teach my students with care, love, and respect, I believe that they will grow into the amazing young people I know they can be (and often already are)!

Awards & shining teacher moments

Graduated from my undergraduate program as a double major (special education and Deaf education) with a 4.0 GPA. Presented research at the CEC 2015 Annual Conference on Deaf/Hard of Hearing students with Autism.

My own education history
