In this literacy center using recyled text students decide what the author's purpose was for writing, and justify their answers with written explainations. Because the texts can be switched out and made to be differentiated and grade level specific this center can work across multiple grade levels or in a multi age classroom. I created this for my second and third grade teachers to use and they reported back... it was a good one!

As a reading coach I get asked for this basic guided reading lesson planning form quite a bit. It's goof proof.
