Here's an easy one page kitchen math activity with several different types of questions. This is great for real world applications of math. This can be used in Family and Consumer Science or in a math class.

This is a free activity that was made using experiences from a flooring specialist job in the Home Improvement industry. To make math more relatable, I like to use real world examples of math students might use as adults or in their careers. The example takes students through figuring sq. ft and sq yds. Most businesses charge by the square yard, but measure by the foot. This assignment would be fun for small groups of students to do together and give them experience using a measuring tape.
