Teaching style

In my classroom, I believe in fostering an environment where students not only learn but also own their learning. I encourage students to take the lead, guiding them to explore concepts independently and collaborate with their peers. By embracing a student-centered approach, I tailor my teaching style to meet the unique needs and learning preferences of each individual. I strive to make learning enjoyable and meaningful by designing lessons that spark lively discussions and promote active participation. Whether through thought-provoking discussions, interactive activities, or hands-on projects, students are encouraged to actively engage with the material, fostering deeper understanding and retention. Recognizing the benefits of physical activity on cognition, I incorporate movement into lessons to keep students energized and focused. From scavenger hunts to card sorts to work station rotations, students are encouraged to get up, move around, and actively participate in their learning journey.

My own education history

My educational journey has been deeply influenced by the remarkable teachers who ignited my passion for learning and inspired me to pursue a career in education. Growing up, I encountered a variety of educators who went above and beyond to support and encourage me, leaving a lasting impact on my life. One particular area where I faced challenges was mathematics. Despite my initial struggles with math, I was fortunate to have dedicated teachers who saw my potential and provided the guidance and support I needed to succeed. Through their patience, creativity, and unwavering belief in my abilities, they helped me overcome my difficulties and develop a newfound confidence in math. These experiences sparked a desire within me to pay it forward and make a positive difference in the lives of others through teaching. Motivated by the profound impact my teachers had on me, I embarked on a journey to become an educator, determined to inspire and empower students in the same way that my teachers had done for me.
