I have been teaching JH math in Texas for 19 years, and I still LOVE it! Many people think I am crazy, but I cannot imagine doing anything else. I have found my true calling!!!
Looking for a new way to assess mastery of a concept? Why not try a maze?
Students will start the activity at the "START" arrow and continue through the maze until they reach the “END” space multiplying polynomials the entire way!
I have included a color copy (if you would prefer to laminate them to use in future years as an in class activity), and a white copy that could be used as homework. Plus the solution key.
My students always look forward to activities. If yours do too, you might

When spring is in the air, I cannot help but think about BASEBALL!!! However, we still have several months of school remaining. So why not combine the two?
This file contains 2 baseball themed quadratic equations worksheets. The first one requires students to test for factorability of quadratic equations by using the discriminant. The second requires students to use the quadratic formula to solve quadratic equations. And as always, I have included both solution keys.
Together, they serve

This file includes all you need for a fun filled day of real world math involving simple and compound interest; 15 problem posters, work packet, and solution key. The activity is designed to have students work in groups and OUT OF THEIR SEATS! There are 15 poster that will be placed around the room. Each poster has a question that must be solved correctly to find its "matching solution" on another poster in the room. Once all 15 problems have been answered correctly, each team will end back
This can be an individual activity or completed with a partner. Students will be given 24-30 cards (mappings, ordered pairs, graphs, tables and equations) to sort into the appropriate category: relation or function. Once the cards have been sorted, they can complete the extension WS to reinforce the images on the cards.
If your student enjoy this type of student activity, you make also want to consider these:

This can be an individual activity or completed with a partner. Students will be given 10-30 puzzle pieces at a time depending on level of difficulty you desired. The objective is to match five pieces that relate to one linear relationship; the visual or verbal real world situation, equation, identification of y-intercept and slope, meaning of slope, and meaning of the y-intercept. Once matches are made, students will unscramble letters located on cards to complete short phrases. This enable
This set of task cards provides all you need for a full hour of fun. The activity is designed to have students work in groups and OUT OF THEIR SEATS! It contains 10 algebraic function problems, including equation, inequalities, graphs and tables, a coordinating answer worksheet, and a solution key.
I have included two versions of the cards, one in grayscale, and the other in color, for a total of 20 cards. Either way, you will probably want to print a class set on cardstock and laminate the
