TEKS 3.6C and 3.6D
12 task cards are included:
6 cards focus on TEKS 3.6C - determining the area of rectangles with whole number side lengths in problems using multiplication related to the number of rows times the number of unit squares in each row.
6 cards focus on TEKS 3.6D - decomposing composite figures formed by rectangles into non-overlapping rectangles to determine the area of the original figure using the additive property of area.
Student response sheet is included.

Each task card presents students with a list of attributes for either a 2-dimensional shape or a 3-dimensional shape. Based on the listed attributes, the students are challenged to create the shape and give the geometric name. All attributes use formal geometric language.
Shape cards have also been included in case of differentiated learning and for students to match with the attribute challenge cards.
2-Dimensional Shapes Included:
rectangle
rhombus
triangle
circle
square
hexagon
3-Dimen
Review 2-dimensional shapes with students by playing "Scoot."
This file contains 25 task cards, directional arrows, and a student recording document.
