Students color in the quilt design and determine the fraction of each square that is colored in their favorite color. They fill out their bingo card with the fractions in simplified form and play bingo -- the teacher calls out fractions in simplified and non-simplified form and the student can match one square per call with either the simplified or an equivalent form.

Print off one of two foldables for your students. The first version steps the students through adding and subtracting mixed numbers by changing the mixed numbers to improper fractions. The second foldable has the student regroup in order to add or subtract mixed numbers. For either version, print the foldable on front & back -- it will fold to the front in a 'double doors' format with addition on the right and subtraction on the left. This is a set of Fraction to Decimal to Percent conversion problems to be cut apart. One problem is given to each student as they enter the classroom. Once they have had a few minutes to work on their problem, I put the 'mystery number for the day' on the overhead. If they have an equivalent Fraction or Decimal or Percent they either get an extra ticket or they draw from my goody box. The completed problem is then used as their 'ticket out the door' and part of their daily grade.
