About the store
I have been teaching middle school math for over 20 years. I have taught all middle school grades in math and science. Currently, I am a math interventionist for 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Michigan. I am enjoying this new role and I am learning how to individualize instruction in new ways. It is extremely rewarding!

Geometry Christmas Tree Project
This activity is great for ending a unit on Volume and Surface Area. Students compute the area, volume and surface area for shapes and then turn them into Christmas tree ornaments. I have included the nets and shapes that I use with my class. You will need to provide poster board for the Christmas trees and measuring tools. Formats: A Microsoft Word Document is available to edit. There is a PDF file available as well.

Haunted House Halloween Area Project
This project was designed to conclude a unit on area of circles and composite figures. The students will be creating a floor plan or a outside view of a haunted house and then calculate the area of it. Then, students will be writing five of their own story problems related to their floor plan. Formats: There is a Microsoft Word Document available for edit. There is also a PDF file included.

Experience

Teaching style
I teach most of my lessons traditionally and utilize Kagan strategies. I am learning about Building Thinking Classrooms and I am realizing how valuable this strategy is for the middle school grades.
