This flow chart is our take on the RACE writing strategy.
Since state tests generally require two pieces of evidence on constructed response answers, we have expanded RACE to RACECES or RACES squared to account for the 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th . . . ) piece of evidence.
Our flow chart also includes sentence starters that students can use.
Our students' writing showed significant improvement when they applied this strategy!
