I have taught 7th grade for 8 years and have also taught a combination of 5th, 6th and 8th grade in various years. Currently, I teach part time and spend the other half of my job as a math instructional coach.

This is real data about the size of zoos across the globe. I used this as a warm up at the beginning of class to generate a discussion among students about the most appropriate graph to represent the data.

I used this as a homework assignment for my students during our study of percentages. A few of the questions are about Ohio State football players (these can be changed since this is a Word Document). Many of the students were very excited about the authentic sports facts!

I use this test as a formative assessment for my 7th grade students before our review of fractions. I have found that many students need to brush up on fractions in order to comfortably use them in classroom content. I do not allow my students to use a calculator

About the store

Experience

Teaching style

It is always my goal to get students out of their seats during the class period. I love to allow my students to discover new concepts and then follow up the investigation with a mini-lesson. I am a teacher at an EL Learning school and I am always looking for real world applications of math to apply to our units of study.
