This product is a set of 12 Task Cards containing quadratic word problems. Solutions involve finding the maximum or minimum, x-intercepts, y-intercepts or a value for x when given a y-value. Along with solving the equations there is a visual aspect to the word problems where students will need to locate their solution on the sketch of the parabola provided so they can relate the solution to that part of the graph (max, min, y-intercept, x-intercept, or some other point on the parabola). Graphing Systems of Inequalities can be time consuming and messy to grade. For this reason I made this set of matching Task Cards so that students can match the graphs to the correct system of inequalities. Critical thinking skills are needed to match up the graph with the set of inequalities by knowing how to locate the correct boundary lines using slopes and y-intercepts and determine solid versus dashed boundary lines and how to determine which section needs to be shaded. Both sets of Task

This product is two sets of Task Cards- a set of 24 graphs of parabolas and a set of 24 quadratic equations. At the beginning of a Quadratics Unit students can practice the basic properties of quadratic functions- (vertex, axis of symmetry, y-intercept, wide vs skinny, opens up or down) by matching the Quadratic Graph Task Cards with the Quadratic Equation Task Cards. The two sets should be printed out and given to each group so they can manipulate the cards and look for the matching graph and

The first 13 specify the method to use to solve the equation and the remaining cards state to solve the quadratic equations by a method of their choice. The methods requested are to solve by: factoring, taking square roots, completing the square, graphing, and using the quadratic formula. If you have not covered imaginary numbers I have included two versions of cards 19 and 20. The first pair include problems that result in imagi

This is a wonderful activity to use after studying the various quadrilaterals and their properties. Included are parallelogram, rhombus, rectangle, square, trapezoid, isosceles trapezoid, and kite. Print the Task Cards and scatter them around the room and give each group or student an answer recording sheet. Students will need to identify the quadrilateral based on the markings on the diagram and then find the missing values of lengths or angle measures in the diagrams. For some Task Cards s

This worksheet reviews linear functions in 5 formats – graph, slope-intercept form, point-slope form, standard form, and by their intercepts. For each problem, the student is given information for one of the formats and is asked to complete the rest of the chart. Great for partner work but also can be used as an individual assignment or group work. Students find this is a great review of all the ways to represent a linear equation. All About Slope consists of a summary chart showing 6 different ways to find slope of a line, a sheet of class problems with an answer key and a quiz with an answer key. The quiz could be used as a review quiz or assigned with partners or used as homework. It reviews the definition and how to find slope using slope formula, rise over run on a graph, from a table, from slope-intercept form, standard form, and slope of special lines (horizontal and vertical). This is great to review slope at the

This is a quick and fun activity for students to review their knowledge of Slopes and Intercepts of a line. Students in groups have fun cutting out and solving problems relating to slope and x- or y-intercepts of a line. They will chain them together by finding the answer on the top one of the problems. When they are finished the 16 problems should form a complete loop. A second way to use this Activity is to set it up as a Scavenger Hunt by placing the cards around the room and putting studen

It is so hard to correct or grade those graphs of inequalities my students would produce for me, yet I needed them to practice the skills of graphing the borderline, dotted versus shaded, and which side to shade. Most of them looked like a scribble mess even when I provided pretty colored pencils or markers for shading. Therefore I created this Matching Task Card Activity to assess the same skills but not have to look at those messy graphs. This product contains 36 Task Cards of Inequality Gra

This is a great resource to review Systems of Linear Equations! This is a one sheet review of the methods to solve a system of linear equations. I have left blank areas for students to work out the example in each category. I have also provided a completed chart to hand out as a resource, if needed. This works great to summarize and pull together the different ways to solve a system. Great for discussions of which methods works best for which situation.
