Learning about court cases is an important part of Humanities, Social Studies, and Citizenship. This activity involves the investigation and discovery phase of a court case. The presentation contains 2 cases for students to investigate, find witnesses, and decide on questions for witnesses. Student planning, worksheets, and cards are included along with teacher notes and pacing. This is a great activity for collaboration and group work in intermediate and middle grades along with GT students.

Poly Parrot has been kidnapped! Students must solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and factoring polynomial problems to find the codes and free Poly. Digital Breakout is a Google Form. Problems are paper copies. Answer Key included.

This paper and digital breakout is a great review after teaching simplifying radicals and laws of exponents. Students will work through practice problems, find the code within the answers and enter codes digitally. If the code is correct, students will move on to the next task, if the code is incorrect, a message will show and students may adjust their answers. Students will learn about the California Gold Rush then write a letter as if they were on the trail. Students will then learn to "weather" their letter to look authentic and finish with a drawing lesson on sketching a covered wagon. Short videos are linked along with step by step instructions.
