My students absolutely loved doing this project!! It allowed them to be extremely creative with their quadratic love stories as well as creating a selfie with a quadratic function.
Let me know what your students think :)
Need an additional handout on solving problems with order of operations? Try this one for your students!
Includes mixed problems with rational numbers (multiplying and dividing)
Editable jig-saw activity template. Try it with your students today. Assign 2 problems to each group of students (3-4) and assign roles to hold them accountable.

Differentiated handout on finding missing angles in quadrilaterals.
This is a great way to get students used to writing and using equations to find missing values or angles in quadrilaterals.
The differentiated handout allows students to move from their level of comfort (mild, medium, and spicy) at their own pace.
Give it a go and let me know how it worked for you!
This bundle is composed of 16 lessons covering the transformations unit in Geometry (reflections, translations, rotations, and an introduction to dilations). Along with the lesson handouts, which include homework, formative assessments with rubrics, aims and learning objectives, I have also included a quiz and a test that I used for the unit. Please leave feedback and I hope it comes to use for you :)
This bundle of lesson plans covers 10 different lessons Lesson 18- Factoring GCF and CW Lesson 19- Quadratic Factoring Lesson 20- Zero Product Property Lesson 21- More Practice Zero Product Property Lesson 22- Quadratic Formula Day 1 Lesson 23- Quadratic Formula Day 2 Lesson 24- Completing the Square Day 1 L25- Completing the Square Day 2 Lesson 26- Mixed Review Factoring Each lesson has an aim, do now (usually a regents review question), objectives aligned to the lesson, mini-lesson format with
Need a fun way for students to interact with one another and do math? Try this activity.
Part A has students working on the task cards (you will have to cut them out and put them in zip loc bags or envelopes. I used envelopes).
Students will take turns solving each of the equations and when they are done, will put back. Students can also work on the same problem. This activity is differentiated in itself that it can be used either in pairs, groups of 3 or 4 or independently.
This can also be
Math stations include multiple topics covered in 7th grade.
Each station has a cute title that allows students to connect to the topic they are working on.
Each station handout is differentiated from easy, medium and hard and has specific directions for students to follow
Format of each station follows with assessment questions based on the topic
The topics covered on all seven stations include
1) Solving Equations with word problems
2) Circles- area and circumference
3) Surface area and vol
Need a way to engage your students to do work? Try using task cards in your classroom!
These task cards are colorful and can be used for timed activities with your students. Rather then giving them a boring handout to work on, these task cards push your students to work faster to get to the last task cards.
These task cards cover multiplying rational numbers and progress from easy to difficult.
In need of a differentiated handout for students learning word problems with angle pair relationships? Try this!
Mild= easy
Medium = medium
Spicy = difficult
Students love the names of mild, medium, and spicy. Have lower-tiered students begin with the mild questions and gradually move towards medium and spicy!
Mild, medium and spicy differentiation handouts for multiplying trinomials and polynomials. I included the 2 ppts I used for this lesson as well. Told my students that medium and spicy is where they needed to be, even if they don't like spicy food! They loved this activity. Let me know what you thought.
Are you looking for a fun way to get your students to speak mathematically? Well, have your students indulge in a "math talk" by having them refer to the math talk bulletin board. It is a great way to get students to communicate mathematically and also to listen to one another. Try it for yourself! :)
All grade appropriate.
This was used the first week of Algebra as a nice review of 8th grade material but also an introduction to functions which is later explored in Algebra 1.
In this bundle, you will find 4 lessons that are used as classwork.
Each of the handouts have an aim, objective, do now, mini-lesson or guided notes as well as practice problems
a check in assessment as well as exit slip for the first lesson is included
the last lesson is a review of all functions learned.
please let me know what you think!
In need of a way to motivate and engage your 6th and 7th grade students? Need a review game? Try these adding integers card game. It gets students working together and talking about mathematics! Colorful and appealing for all ages! Let me know what you think
In need of station work for your students? Or centers for a quick review lesson of what was learned in the past few weeks?
I created 8 different stations, with each focusing on a specific skill in Algebra 1.
For each station, students had 5-7 minutes to complete. They worked in "struggle time" for the first 2 minutes and then if they needed help, they asked a friend in their work.
In addition to the station work, I put in a "notes" section in each of the folders. On the "notes" sections, stud
Need a way to engage students to learn more about integers?
These task cards might be helpful!
Each task cards targets a different concept with integers, with finding absolute value of integers, to solving higher order level thinking questions with integers.
Take a look yourself and have your students learn more with task cards!
Here is a similar figures packet I put together for my students for our unit on scale drawings and similar figures. It is broken down by lesson titles and each lesson follows by a mini-lesson, a classwork handout and then a hw assignment.
The file is a doc file for you to edit to meet your student needs.
Let me know if this was useful for you and your students.
In need of a lesson on average rate of change? And some spiral review questions? Well, look no more! This lesson provides ample examples with a skills checklist and self-reflection piece as well as targeting the new hallmarks of literacy. This is great for an algebra 1 class, honors algebra 1 and ideal for an algebra 2 class!
This test assesses students on their understanding on angle geometry (primarily CCSS: 7.G.B.5.
The document is in docx form so you can make any alterations if needed.
Hope this test works well for you!
