Mathosaurus

One set of cards has verbal expressions. The other set has algebraic expressions. Students take turns trying to find matches. They can also read the verbal cards aloud to each other and see if they can write the expression algebraically.

This activity consists of 6 half sheets of paper. each student is given a sheet with a table with 3 columns: algebraic expressions, verbal expressions, and names. For each algebraic expression on their table, they have to find another student with a matching verbal expression and vice versa. When they find a match, they complete that section of the table, including writing the name of the student who they matched with. This lab is a series of questions that will reinforce the students' understanding of graphing linear equations as well as guide the students to an understanding of horizontal and vertical lines.
