This activity is a short-mini lesson with QR codes/bit.ly addresses which can be used by teacher or by student. (Use safeshare.tv to watch you tube clips without ads.) Part of the mini-lesson uses song lyrics to show reflexive pronouns. The other clip is a student made clip -a rather silly one, but it will keep students engaged. In addition there are two practice sheets and two mini-posters. This is a quick and easy lesson that can be covered in a day.
A whole week's worth of mini-lessons that lead up to the constructed response question are included in this package. Two fables and a folktale with the common theme of trust or not to trust are used for the lessons. Close reading and analysis of the text help students succeed on the constructed response question.
You can also choose to deliver the lessons in small group or a mix of whole and small group teaching.

Need more practice with extended constructed response questions? Each question has four parts and one "Just Curious" extension, an answer key, and a rubric if you choose to use one. Each question is part of the Numbers and Operations in Base Ten standards 5.NBT.1. The questions have specific standards written on them for easy reference and the table of contents lists the mathematical skills covered in each question.
