About the store
I started out teaching alternative special education to 6th graders in 1997. In 1998, I wanted to teach science because it is my passion and moved to an alternative high school where I taught all sciences from grades 9-12 to people ages 16-22. When funding was no longer available and our school was shut down 6 years later, I moved to a junior high school in the area. Many of my former students said their hate for school started there and I wanted to be able to help them along instead of seeing them drop out...that was 8 years ago. I still work with at-risk students trying to help them value and desire an education and imparting them with knowledge that will help them become life long learners.
I have training in many different areas and serve as a new teacher mentor, state assessor, and still to this day take classes to help me better my professional life.

Skeletal System Powerpoint
This power point is used with 7th graders as notes for the major points of the skeletal system. THis is the powerpoint I made from my textbook so that i could present it to my students. I animated it as well. It has the ppt i made, a set of student sheets with fill in the blanks, and the answers to the questions at the end.
It has bold faced vocab words and an assignment for them as well.

Energy Flow in Ecosystems PPT (food chains, food webs, and energy pyramid notes)
I made this powerpoint to teach the basics of energy flow in an ecosystem. I looked at several out there on the internet, on the text disc, and old stuff I had, but could not find one that would suit my needs. This ppt focuses on the concepts of food chains, food webs, energy pyramids, and the 10% rule. Layers of the Atmosphere Foldable Activity answers and rubric
I have used this activity several times and my students not only enjoy it, but they retain a lot of knowledge when they do. They are told they will be making foldables and then shown how to do it. They are then shown what goes on each flap of the foldable and that the last one if left blank to do another assignment on. We then go over it as a whole group. The Microscope Powerpoint
This is the power point that I give my students for background knowledge on the microscope.
I made this entire power point based on what they need to know about using and caring for the microscope.
I find it is really easy for my students, most of which are inclusion students, to understand. It is very straight forward without a lot of fluff for them.

I made this when I was teaching middle school (7th grade). It can easily be altered and change, but it is already pretty comprehensive for the grade level.
This is information I just collected from our materials and put together then found come pics to add to it. I am only charging the fee for my time and effort that it took to make it.

Biomes Closure Activity
This is a closure activity I made for my Biomes lesson.
To make it look like I wanted, I made it in powerpoint. It has 2 slides - one that is the student sheet and one that explains the directions. There is no answer key because each student will have different answers. This was the closure after they created billboards for the biomes they researched.

Group Roles
I created this set of group roles for my kids to use. I had tried other group roles that I used in previous years and they were not too responsive to them. Im not sure if the different titles made the difference, but in their assessment exit ticket, they said they really liked these roles and they focused more when working.

Teaching style
I like my classroom to be a safe place where students can succeed and express themselves as they take home positive learning experiences. I am not a dictator in my class. I like to facilitate and let the children learn by doing.

My own education history
I received my BS in education from Nicholls State University in 1997. I have a concentration in Biology with my minor being General Science. I have since taken many many graduate classes for "fun" as well as to increase acheivement with my students.
Additional biographical information
I am finally going back to complete my masters degree. I have enough hours to have my plus 30 plus some, but nothing that goes together for a degree. I apparently just like going to school!
