Educators know there are student factors outside of school, such as home life and childhood experiences, that have a big influence on student success in school. Probability - Chance and Data - Matching Cards Activity
This activity has been adapted from Malcolm Swan's research.
Enabling learners to:
* confront and overcome common misconceptions about probability;
* count equally likely outcomes, using diagrams;
* discuss relationships between theoretical probabilities, observed
outcomes and sample sizes;
* calculate probabilities of dependent and independent events.
Print off the pdf, cut up the squares and have students match the cards accordingly to demonstrate their understanding of probability.

Mathematics: Place Value Thinkboard
This thinkboard is a way to organise students' work in place value with three digit numbers.
It allows them to show how to solve a given word problem using manipulatives, pictures, and written number sentences.
This thinkboard is broken up into four parts; 'less and more', 'making a model', 'renaming' and writing the number in words'.
I have also uploaded a thinkboard relating to decimals.

2D Shape - Card Matching Activity

* develop mathematical language to describe the similarities and differences between shapes;
* develop convincing explanations as to why combinations of particular

SHAPE - Comparing 2D and 3D Shapes (Venn Diagram)
Use this activity to aide students understanding of two and three dimensional shapes.
Photocopy the pdf to A3 which will enable students to cut out the words at the bottom of the page more freely.
When the words have been cut out they place them into the Venn Diagram.

I am an enthusiastic leader who is dedicated to the educational and cultural needs of all students. Additional biographical information
Over many years I have undertaken several of the state's leadership development programs. These programs have been pivotal in developing my leadership capacity. I have learnt a great deal about school leadership through these programs, undertaken significant professional reading and have been given the opportunity to work with some outstanding mentors and coaches.
I firmly believe that best results come about by working in teams. Working as part of a team can be a valuable experience for all members. When people work together to plan, evaluate and solve problems they are able to share ideas and learn from each other while utilising each other’s strengths. I enjoy the challenge of new responsibilities and aspire to continue and improve my own learning whilst promoting the skills and talents of those I work with.
