I've been teaching for over twenty-eight years. During that time, I have taught first through fourth grade and one year as a reading resource teacher for K-3. I am also ESOL and gifted certified.
I created a skills sheet for each of the stories in the new 2013 Reading Street. It has the spelling words, high frequency words, amazing words, comprehension strategies, phonics, and writing skills for each story in unit one. I plan putting it on the back of my newsletter each week so my students' parents can see what skills we are working on (and I don't have to worry about typing all that information on the newletter!!).
The stories included are:
-The Twin Club
-Exploring Space with an Astr
This set is for the new Reading Street Common Core series. I have created a reference set for teachers so they can quickly look over the skills covered that week or to help when writing lesson plans, a set for parents and students that could be attached to the newsletter and a set of half sheet "I can" and essential questions posters.
The stories included in this set are:
Because of Winn Dixie
Lewis and Clark and Me
On the Banks of Plum Creek
The Horned Toad Prince
Letters Home from Yosemite

I created a skills sheet for each of the stories in the new 2013 Reading Street. It has the spelling words, high frequency words, amazing words, comprehension strategies, phonics, and writing skills for each story in unit one. It would work great on the back of your newsletter to provide essential information for parents on the skills covered each week. It is also a great tool when planning your lessons. I included a list of the guided readers for the unit and two quick reference sheets for all
This is a quick reference guide for each story in the Scott Foresman Reading Street- Reading Readiness. It is a great way to help plan lessons or to use as a guide for parents. The stories included are:

Tip and Tam
The Big Top
School Day
Farmers Market
More detailed units for first grade will be coming in July. Please stop by my store to see them.
This is a very sweet story about an old buffalo who seems to have lost interest in keeping up with the herd until he meets a calf who needs someone to look after him. This would be great to use along with in science for Habitats or Social Studies when learning about Native Americans. For Reading, I created worksheets that cover: -Asking and answering questions- RL2.1 -Cause/ Effect -How the character responds to major events- RL2.3 -Present/ Past tense verbs - Adjectives that Compare (-er, -est)
