This is designed to be a study guide for parents as they try to help their children with homework. Teachers may choose to use it as a pacing guide. I have taken every 6th grade common core math standard and broken it down into easier to understand language and then I match each standard with relevant examples. Credit is given to several website like Khan Academy, Massachusetts DESE, and illustrative math.

This lesson has a coolness factor because students get to use an online random number generator tool, something they may have never seen before. The primary objective of this lesson is to provide an abundance of adding and subtracting integer practice. Students can work with a partner or by themselves. On a single 11" by 17" page are five identical number lines, ranging from -25 to 25. Formatted on Excel; it is editable and printable. I recommend that you print it out, make several copies, separate the number lines with a paper cutter then tape on each desk in your classroom or build it into an interactive notebook.
