I have been teaching middle school math and special education since 2007, and in 2023 my district appointed me Secondary Math Coach. These are resources that I use to increase student learning , engagement, and achievement over the past 17 years. My passion is teaching conceptually and helping to alleviate student working memory so they can meet the content readily and create meaning.

Hang papers out of order around your room, make 1 copy of recording sheet per student and you are good to go! Corresponds to standard 8.G.C.9.

When you introduce volume of cubes, right prisms, and cylinders using V=Bh, students can use this sheet to highlight the base(s) of the figure, identify the shape of the base, put the base's area formula in place of "B", and then simplify the formula if possible, to get a unique volume formula for each shape.
