Download includes a menu for The Math Cafe, and questions for students to answer about their meal. Students are asked to total their food choices, calculate the tax, calculate the tip, calculate a discount, and divide their total bill among their entire party. This activity requires knowledge of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals, and calculating percents in the form of tax, tips, and discounts.

This Math Matcher puzzle is a great way to review 2 step equations with your students! This puzzle encourages students to work together and help one another, but still provides enough flexibility that each student can work at his or her own pace and skill level.

Download includes directions and a score sheet for a card game that reviews positive and negative exponents, as well as comparing rational numbers. Note: Each pair of students will need to have a standard deck of cards to play this game.

After every test, I require students to fix all of their mistakes (regardless of how well they did). This form requires students to not only find a new answer, but to identify where they went wrong, so they hopefully won't make similar mistakes in the future. I allow students to get help and use any resources they can for these corrections, and they count as a quiz grade. This also helps students improve their grade a bit if they didn't do well on the original assessment. This works very well
