About the store

Experience

I am a middle school ELA teacher with over 20 years of experience supporting students in literacy, including 12 years at a school for children with dyslexia. I am trained through the certified level of Orton–Gillingham and specialize in creating structured literacy resources that are practical, classroom-ready, and student-centered. My goal is to provide teachers with effective tools that save time and help every learner succeed.

Teaching style

My teaching style is grounded in the diagnostic prescriptive approach of Orton–Gillingham. I continually assess where each student is and then design the next step to meet their exact needs. Every learner’s profile is different, so I adapt instruction to make sure it is both targeted and responsive. I believe effective teaching is a balance of data driven decision making and a human centered approach. I use student performance data to guide instruction, but I never lose sight of the individual in front of me, their interests, strengths, and challenges. This ensures that the resources I create are not only structured and systematic but also flexible enough for real classrooms with real students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been recognized for mentoring new teachers, leading professional development in structured literacy, and supporting students in making continued growth on standardized tests while finding joy in reading.

My own education history

I hold a BA in English from James Madison University, a Master of Science in Education from the University of New England, and a Sixth-Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from Quinnipiac University. This academic background, combined with extensive classroom experience, has shaped my commitment to creating high-quality, research-based resources that support both teachers and students.
