A simple reading/informational reading/report about the legendary writer Charles Dickens. This reading is ideal for students in Grades 2-5 (depending on reading level). There are questions about the reading, including questions that allow for deeper thinking/student perspective.

- Background to a classic song by the Jam - made extra famous when used in the amazing dance scene in the film Billy Elliot. - The song comes with 5 questions related to the creative use of literary features such as rhyme, alliteration and personification.

A reading and comprehension activity about the activism of Charles Darwin. This activity will be used as part of an Arts for Action PYP unit. It can be used for a reading lesson about raising awareness through the arts and the writing of the esteemed Victorian-era writer, Charles Dickens.

Students use the table to answer the set questions. This was great to practice problem solving, data handling and even introduced some fraction to percentage conversion. Answers included.
