Fun and simple guess the animal quiz - perfect as a starter to a lesson on anything animal related. Also good for simple reading practice and writing descriptions/creating clues. This can then be connected to a lesson on simple paragraph writing describing an animal, or going further - an information report.

- Background to a classic song by the Jam - made extra famous when used in the amazing dance scene in the film Billy Elliot. - The song comes with 5 questions related to the creative use of literary features such as rhyme, alliteration and personification.

This template allows students to bring a Halloween-theme/creepy story to life by making it their own while practicing creative writing. A protest song with a punch! This is a great song and a great listening activity. The discussion around it - written within an hour after the news of the atrocities at the time - was Simone's first protest song. Controversial at the time, the lyrics describe the anger of the time and what went before. As a listening activity and a class discussion about such themes as prejudice, racism, discrimination, there are few songs that encapsulate the feeling of rage, frustration and disillusionment
