The students then have to create a brochure about each transformation. The project requires that the students include a picture of the transformation occurring, a description of the transformation, and a real-world application of the transformation. In this activity students are asked to determine the best package size for the Sensational Snack Corporation's snacks. The company wants to be able to ship snacks in a pre-determined size box with as little wasted space as possible. Students will be asked to use their knowledge of three-dimensional shapes to find volume. The difficulty level of this problem could be easily changed to include finding the price of packing peanuts and cost analysis for shipping a pre-determined amount of product.
