About the store
I have been a primary school teacher for over 16 years. During this time, I have had some time off to be at home with my twin boys, and then my daughter. I have taught across all levels in a primary school, and until recently I would have said my favourite would definitely have been grades 5/6. But, after 3 years working in a 1/2 classroom it would have to be a very close second! I am back in a composite grade 3/4 this year after spending last with in Preps and loving it. I haven't taught 3/4 since my first year teaching, so it will be interesting to return to where it all started!

Retell/ Summarise Somebody Wanted But So

Retelling and summarising stories and texts are an important comprehension strategy, but what is the best way to teach it? One great strategy that should be one part of your repertoire of many, is using the somebody, wanted, but, so strategy. After reading a short text or chapter, students write a single sentence telling who was the main character (somebody), what the character wanted (goal), but there was a problem, so this is how the problem was solved (solution). Students can then continu

Using this concept, and some easily identifiable images, you can help ease your students into blending and segmenting with phonics. The worksheets help studen
