Comprehension Questions & activities to go along with the chapter book.

The students get to test rocks according to their properties, color, luster, cleavage/fracture, streak test, and hardness.

The students learn how to use scientific tools through exploration and play.

Students will complete research on a Hispanic Country for Hispanic Heritage Month using the template provided. Once they have finished, they will use the information to create a Travel Brochure enticing tourists to visit. The research will provide the evidence to use in their brochures.

I use a Star Chart in my classroom each year. The kids begin each day with 5 stars...this is important, so that they start fresh each day...throughout the day if I have to give more than a couple of reminders for a certain behavior, they lose a star. I created a two page document with questions for my students to answer about themselves. This will be used at the beginning of the year to learn more about them. I usually buy plastic folders at the beginning of the year to use as take home folders, these pages, once decorated, will slip right in as covers, and will make the folders their own. I also keep a copy of the completed pages for myself in my Student Info Binder to refer back to for incentives, goal making, etc.
