I have worked with elementary to highschool students, but my passion is in middle school. I am a Texas teacher with a huge heart for kids and an interest in science.
This activity is for your students to work with Net Forces and balanced or unbalanced forces. I use this as an engage activity before I teach the students to calculate Net force, but you can use it as a check for understanding, practice, or quiz.
Have the students choose two cards and place them on the squares. The students are to then answer the questions according to the two forces they chose. Sometimes the forces will balance, other times the forces will not.

This is to be used during science lessons covering energy transformations. The students can identify which type of energy the pictures are transforming from and into. The students can create their own energy transformation chains from these images or others they find.
6th Grade Science Texas TEKS:
(6.7) Matter and energy. The student knows that some of Earth's energy resources are available on a nearly perpetual basis, while others can be renewed over a relatively short period of time. Some
Twelve lab stations for students to decide whether it is conduction, convection or radiation.
I have included lab station signs, questions, and lab set up help.

(6.9) Force, motion, and energy. The student knows that the Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it just changes form. The student is expected to:
(A) investigate methods of thermal energy transfer, including conduction, convection, and radiation;

A science lab that tests the hardness of minerals you have on hand. Any 4 minerals you have can be tested using this student lab sheet.
This is for the students to test the hardness of minerals by scratching them with their fingernail, a copper penny, a nail (file), and other minerals. The students will understand how we identify minerals based on hardness of minerals.

Cute pages to keep you smiling all day.
This file has different activities for middle school and high school students to practice the phases of the Moon and their locations around the Earth.
Texas TEKS for 8th Grade Science:
(8.7) Earth and space. The student knows the effects resulting from cyclical movements of the Sun, Earth, and Moon. The student is expected to:
(B) demonstrate and predict the sequence of events in the lunar cycle
Word problems for students to solve speed using distance and time measurements. This topic was adapted to fit a very specific location (Louisiana) and time of year (Mardi Gras), but can be used by anyone around the world.
A quiz over location of the moon during the 8 lunar phases. I created the images to be challenging for the students. 8th grade science Texas Science TEKS: (8.7) Earth and space.
