About the store
I spent 8 years teaching high school - 6 years as a Math Teacher, primarily in Geometry and Algebra 2, but also taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Calculus. Then I spent 2 years as a mild-moderate special education teacher in English and Math. I had my own classroom, acted as a co-teacher, taught vocational transitions, and oversaw Coffee Cart and Work Experience programs. I've also coached volleyball and scholar bowl. Later, in a private Christian school, I served as School Board Vice Chair. I am currently homeschooling my 1st and 4th graders.

Students cut out the variables from the instructions page then tape/glue them into the Independent Variables/Dependent Variables table. Variables come in pairs/from the same situation, but are completely mixed up on the page they cut them from. The direction page includes an example. Use this activity in your Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, or Algebra 2 class to help students practice determining if a variable is independent or dependent. Made on a full page of paper, but can be used in an interacti

Hands-on tool to help students determine Domain & Range of graphs. Includes sample graphs to practice with and pictures of the Finder in action! Purpose – the edges of the flaps will cross the respective x- or y- axis to give students a visual representation of the numbers we use to describe our domain and range for a particular relation. This works for continuous and discrete graphs. Print page 1 & 2 front and back on the same sheet. Cut out the corners as indicated with the scissors. Cut

This handy flowchart will help students use the Discriminant to determine the number and type of roots of a quadratic equation. Hand out the flowchart filled in, or have students complete it as a class activity. My goal in my classroom with this flowchart was that it would help students streamline their thought process and make stronger connections between that number they got under the radical and the answers they got out for solutions. I hoped that they didn't actually need this flowchart

Teaching style

I try to make the most of every minute! I love to implement games and hands on learning activities as much as I can. I take a lot of pride in all that I do, and care deeply for my students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My math students consistently scored very well on state standardized tests. As a math teacher, I was named STAR teacher for one month (by students) and Teacher of the Week (by coworkers/administration).

My own education history

Southwestern Heights High School, Kismet, KS - Valedictorian; Evangel University, Springfield, MO - Outstanding Graduate of the Science and Technology Department
