This is a small pack of resources to use for small groups (what I call expert groups) to reflect on their work and presentations. Attached, are questions to answer, rubrics for speaking & listening, and an extra credit worksheet to complete with families. I am a big believer in asking students to reflect on their own work and really "own" their learning in the classroom. -Cassandra

The first page has sentence starters for Questioning, Commenting (compliments), and Coaching for writing partners to use when they meet to revise/edit and help each other. It's especially important for ELL's to have sentence starters, in order to have access to participation. My third graders ALL have used this scaffold and worked without my help. It's been amazing. Also attached, on page 2, is an exit slip. Since both are in Mic Word, you can easily adapt them to fit you & your students' needs.

Here's a list of questions your students' parents can ask at parent-teacher conferences. Also, attached on page 2 is some sample questions for students to respond to, as they reflect on the previous quarter.

This one-page reflection is geared toward Grades 3, 4, and 5. It's a multiple-choice & fill-in-the-blank survey for each student to reflect on reading, writing, math, effort, etc. This a great document to share at parent-teacher conferences, as well as inform next steps of instruction. I made this self reflection for the first 6 weeks of school with my high schoolers (ESL) but could be used for any grades- I'd recommend between grade 2 and up to 12.

Here's an example of how to T-Chart a conversation you can have with your students about logical consequences, inside & outside the classroom. Since it's a doc, you can easily change it. ; ) -Cassandra
