Assignment designed for beginner French learners. The first page of the assignment has students answering the "waiter's" questions that concern simple questions like "what is your name?" ,a few conjugations concerning "to eat" and "to drink," and French food vocabulary. The second side is a page that concerns conjugation of the verbs "to eat" and "to drink" and French food vocabulary.

This is a simple assignment that really brings out a unique level of creativity in all students. Students are tasked with using 10 key vocabulary (prior to which they learned during their WW1 unit) within their letters home. This map activity is an excellent way for students to get an idea of the nations caught up in the world war during 1914-1918. The maps of Europe were much different than they are today. It also gives student a fundamental understanding of which nations where on which sides (Allies/ Central Powers). Students will label nations, key cities, and bodies of water. Then they will color various countries belonging to opposing sides of war, neutral nations, and neutral nations that later joined the war.
