This map activity is an excellent way for students to get an idea of the nations caught up in the world war during 1914-1918. The maps of Europe were much different than they are today. It also gives student a fundamental understanding of which nations where on which sides (Allies/ Central Powers). Students will label nations, key cities, and bodies of water. Then they will color various countries belonging to opposing sides of war, neutral nations, and neutral nations that later joined the war.
