Mean, Median, Mode, Range, and Standard Deviation Riddle

Created by
MsJ2018
This is a riddle worksheet that I made over mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation. There are three sets of numbers (one for ages in a family, one for prices of cell phones, and one for city populations) and students find the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation of each. They match the correct answer and then write the letter at the bottom to get the answer to the riddle.

Slope Project

This is a project that I had my students do last year with slope. Instead of taking a test over slope, they had to find slope in real life and create a poster. They had to also include the different slope formulas and definitions. They had to find examples from home, school, and real life (outside of home and school). They could take pictures at home or draw the picture. They could also take pictures at school for the school ones. Some students took pictures of the roof, ramps that we have, shel

This is the final that I created for my Consumer Math Class. It is in Word, so it can be edited to change questions, add questions, make the spaces larger, etc. Topics included are unit price/which is the better buy, sales and discounts, tax/tips, simple interest, compound interest, parts of a check, writing a check, and how to read a pay stub.

Multi Step Equations and Variables on Both Sides

This is a worksheet to review working on multi step equations and equations with variables on both sides. It's a riddle one. An answer key is provided. Unfortunately, there's not really room to work the problems out on this sheet unless students do so on the sides or the back. I always tell my students they can use the back of the paper or copy the problems onto notebook paper and staple it.

5.5 Standard Form Mini Mystery

This is a mini mystery that I made for my students. There are two versions of it for differentiation; however, the answer is the same. This makes it less obvious if a student has a different version from his/her peers. Students are to solve each problem according to the directions. Once they get an answer, they find it on the sheet and cross off that name or item. The names/items left at the end will go to fill in the blanks at the bottom of the page to solve the mystery. The easier version has

Commissions Worksheet

This is a commissions worksheet that I made for my consumer math class. Because we are limited to the amount of copies we make/paper we print, I posted this to Google Classroom and had them work the problems out on notebook paper. It is in Word, so you can always add more spaces, change the questions, add more, etc. to best fit what you need for your class. At the top are the definitions for different types of commission and then there are problems for students to solve. The answer key is on the

Point-Slope and Slope-Intercept Riddle

Created by
MsJ2018
This is a riddle worksheet that I made for my students to practice writing in point-slope and slope-intercept format. At the top, it asks, "Why don't lobsters share?" and then they match their answers with the number of the problem at the bottom to find the answer. An answer key is provided. There will be a few answers not used.

Factoring ax^2+bx+c Riddle

This is a riddle worksheet over factoring ax^2+bx+c. There are two "versions" of the assignment. Each question is the same and all of the answers are the same, but on the second sheet the questions/answers are chunked into groups of 6. This was done for students who struggle to look at everything at once and do better when the problems are chunked into sections or parts. Answer key is included. It is the same for both sheets. It is on Microsoft Word and therefore can be edited to fit your class/

Distributive Property Baskin Robbins, Pizza Ranch, Movie Theare

In order to practice distributive property and relate it to real life situations, I found menus/prices online and then created these worksheets. We always did a few together as a class before I let them complete the rest on their own. The prices for the movie theatre are included with the first two done as examples for students. The Baskin Robbins and Pizza Ranch menus I found online. They are not included.

Open Up Your Own Restaurant Project

This is what I plan on using for my Consumer Math final project this year. Students will come up with their own restaurant. There are three components to this project. They will create a menu, create a business plan, and then figure out how much total they would be spending for this restaurant (loan plus interest). There are not specifics on how to create the menu or the business plan as far as what program to use or what format because I wanted there to be some flexibility in creativeness. If t

I created this for students to use at the beginning of the year, and I uploaded it to my Google Classroom. I wanted to see where they thought their math skills were at. I originally had it as one long list, but I have since broken it up by chapter. Students are to highlight the "I Can" part of each statement in red, yellow, or green. There is a key explaining what each color is for. This can be given at the beginning and end of each semester or the entire year. It can be given before and after e

I did not come up with this idea because I've seen it before. I just don't remember where. Students are to write out their name using straight lines only and then they are to identify the types of slope that their name makes. They were also to add color to it. I have included a couple of examples as well as some thoughts I have for possible future use of this (this is in Word so you can delete that part before printing off directions for students or posting for them to read). I used it this year
