Mean, Median, Mode, Range, and Standard Deviation Riddle

Created by
MsJ2018
This is a riddle worksheet that I made over mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation. There are three sets of numbers (one for ages in a family, one for prices of cell phones, and one for city populations) and students find the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation of each. They match the correct answer and then write the letter at the bottom to get the answer to the riddle.

Slope Project

This is a project that I had my students do last year with slope. Instead of taking a test over slope, they had to find slope in real life and create a poster. They had to also include the different slope formulas and definitions. They had to find examples from home, school, and real life (outside of home and school). They could take pictures at home or draw the picture. They could also take pictures at school for the school ones. Some students took pictures of the roof, ramps that we have, shel

This is a project that I will have my students do as soon as we start back up school for the new semester. Students are to create a 2019 Dream/vision/goals board (whatever they choose to call it). It could also be used at the beginning of the school year and be used for dreams/goals/visions for the new school year. Included are the directions with a checklist, examples of possible goals and pictures, example dream/vision boards from the internet, and a rubric for an oral presentation should you

This is a project where students create their own marvelous medicine. They need to give the medicine a name, a description of what it does, write a recipe for it, and create a bottle design. I also told my students that they'd be presenting and sharing in class. This is in a word document, but for my students, I put it on Google Classroom for them to be able to type into the document. The bottle design then had to be either hand drawn and colored on paper or it could be made out of construction

This is the test that I made for The Graduation of Jake Moon for my RR English class. We watched a few videos about Alzheimer's. Both can be googled and found. The Ted Talk is on Youtube, "The Forgetting: A Portrait of Alzheimer's" is on pbs.org. You can choose to include these as part of your test or not. My students were confused as to why Skelly was acting the way that he was; therefore, we watched "The Forgetting: A Portrait of Alzheimer's" so they'd learn that this is how people with Alzhei

Nothing but the Truth Research Project

After reading Nothing but the Truth, my students researched real-life stories of students getting suspended or sent home from school for what the public deemed as ridiculous. These were the directions that I gave to students about their project. Mine made posters, but you could always have your students make a powerpoint or something else as well. The rubric I used was found online and it had things like eye contact, pacing, clarity, etc.

This is the final that I created for my Consumer Math Class. It is in Word, so it can be edited to change questions, add questions, make the spaces larger, etc. Topics included are unit price/which is the better buy, sales and discounts, tax/tips, simple interest, compound interest, parts of a check, writing a check, and how to read a pay stub.

I couldn't find an anticipation guide for Max the Mighty, so I created one to use with my class. It has statements or events from the book and students either agree or disagree with the statement. After reading the book, they then look back through the statements deciding whether or not they agree or disagree and find textual evidence to support their response. They also then write a conclusion about their thoughts on the book.

This is the test that I gave to my students for George's Marvelous Medicine. It is short answer, writing descriptions, and one essay question at the end. I did not make an answer key (even for myself) because I just read through students' responses to see if they were correct or not. You could always edit to make it multiple choice or to add in your own questions.

This is a final that I gave to my students for Multisensory Reading & Spelling. It covered prefixes, suffixes, and spelling. The spelling includes using the doubling and dropping rules as well as using sound pictures to spell the words. There's also the (j) sound, (ij), (shun), and multisyllable words. Even though this was made based off the MR & S book, it could be used for other classes that are working on prefix and suffix rules, etc.

This is the Study Guide, Test, Answer Key, and Bingo cards that I made for my RR English class for Lord of the Flies. I used the test to ask questions on the bingo review. Obviously, some of the answers (for bingo) work for more than one question, but a bingo review was a request from a student. There are 25 bingo cards. I have smaller classes because it is a resource room, but this could easily be adapted for a general education classroom and therefore I wanted there to be enough cards for stud

This is a project that I did with my students after reading "The Flying Machine" by Ray Bradbury. Students are to create their own gadget, unique toy, or labor-saving device. At the time, I was in a co-teach English class, so we had differentiated guidelines for varying ability levels. They each had to create a poster depicting their creation. There are 3 sets of guidelines. This is in Word document and may be edited to your liking and needs. I used this at the middle school level, but depending

This is a worksheet to review working on multi step equations and equations with variables on both sides. It's a riddle one. An answer key is provided. Unfortunately, there's not really room to work the problems out on this sheet unless students do so on the sides or the back. I always tell my students they can use the back of the paper or copy the problems onto notebook paper and staple it.

This is a mini mystery that I made for my students. There are two versions of it for differentiation; however, the answer is the same. This makes it less obvious if a student has a different version from his/her peers. Students are to solve each problem according to the directions. Once they get an answer, they find it on the sheet and cross off that name or item. The names/items left at the end will go to fill in the blanks at the bottom of the page to solve the mystery.
