I am a 5th grade teacher in Virginia, and a mom of two amazing little girls. Although 5th grade is my home, I have also taught both 3rd and 4th grade. My expertise is mainly in science and math as those two subjects are my absolute favorite!

Mixed Operations Whole #s Word Problems - VA SOL 5.4 - Distance Learning Capable
Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Word Problems - Only whole numbers used in these problems. - For multiplying, factors do not exceed 3 digits by 2 digits - For dividing, dividends are 4 digits or less, and divisors are 2 digits or less I have students cut up the questions and answers. They solve the questions and match them to the correct answer choice. Answer key is included!

Problem Solving Task Cards - 5th VA SOLs 5.4 & 5.5 - Distant Learning Capable
There are three sets of four problem solving task cards here. Each of the three sets are grouped by topic. The first set contains four problems about fundraising, the second set contains four problems about a wedding, and the third set contains four problems about a bakery. Each of the problems in each set build upon each other, so students must answer task card 1 before moving on to task card 2. There is a recording sheet for each set to help keep the students organized.

Experience

My own education history
I was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program from 6th - 12th grade. I spent my freshman year of college at Longwood University studying Liberal Studies: Elementary Education. I transferred and finished my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Elementary Education and Biology at James Madison University. I continued my education and obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University as well. More recently, I finished the Administrative program at James Madison University and am certified to be a k-12 administrator.
