This set includes a story problem for each addition and subtraction thinking pattern according to CGI (Cognitively Guided Instruction). Print out the packet and cut the cards apart. Then, students will read the story problems and match them with the corresponding number line, equation, part part whole mat, and triangle/fact family card. There's also a part part whole work mat included. Makes a great math station!
Students will have fun getting to know each other with this addition or subtraction game. Either add or subtract by spinning or rolling dice. Then answer questions and share information. I used this game with my first graders when they met their 4th grade buddies. They got a chance to practice the math facts they needed help with, and they had topics to discuss.
This would be great for a back to school game, a math center, or meeting with a buddy class.

This is a SMART notebook file that contains a gameboard and dice to play an addition game. Roll the two dot dice. Add the two addends together. Cover up the sum on the gameboard using the color counters shown. Students can work together as partners to try to cover "5 in a row," or they can compete with different colors and try to cover 5 in a row before their opponent. Cover all numbers for a "black out" challenge.
