This is a drawing art lesson plan that teaches students how to use shading, blending and values. It is a 60 minute lesson that includes reading as well as a bio on Leonardo da Vinci. This is a sample of many art lesson plans (over 30 artists) that allows students to recreate a famous masterpiece of art using only a lead pencil or color pencils.

Paul Cezanne was known as the Father of Modern Art. He paved the way for Cubism and Modern thought as it related to art, specifically painting. This lesson allows your student to investigate who he was by a small reading on the artist. The assignment is a drawing lesson of one of his paintings. This is the second of the Meet the Masters Series of art lessons. This lesson exercises reading, vocabulary, art history, drawing, and shading. This lesson is designed for students to learn the skill of shading and blending color. The materials needed are only color pencils, baby oil and cotton swabs.
