In this assignment, students begin by identifying and exploring infographics. They then must select a topic which they want to explore and create an infographic. The package includes the assignment sheet, guiding questions, success criteria, a rubric and sample infographics to view.

This is a culminating task for a unit on New France in Grade 7 History. The task allows the students to investigate the key roles in New France and think critically about the significance that they hold.

This is a compilation of many questions which can be used for the three part math lesson, or for problem of the week questions. The questions are divided by mathematical strand. Each question requires the student to inquire and apply their mathematical thinking to develop a solution. In total, there are 24 questions which can be used, or adapted to suit your needs.

This is a culminating task for the unit that allows the students to apply their critical thinking skills by analyzing a real world conflict, past or present, and making a judgement on whether or not it was justified. The file includes the assignment layout, graphic organizers for scaffolding, reports layouts for the students to use, timelines to chart their thinking, along with prompts for their research.

This is a booklet which I use with the students at the beginning of the year, and carry on using it throughout the year. Contains a page to list their wants and them categorize them. Has a SMART Goals handout for the students to fill out and track their goals. I photo copy this page and use continuously throughout the year for students to add new goals.

This is a culminating task for 3D Measurement. It was designed for Grade 7, but can easily be modified for other grades as well. The activity is tied to social justice. I did it in conjuction with their unit on global awareness. Each child in my classes had chosen a charity to investigate and raise money for throughout the year. This is a booklet for students to communicate their mathematical thinking. It is focused on the use of math journals and problem solving techniques for students to use. The booklet includes steps for students, a description of the journal process, tips on problem solving, a blank template, and a math journal rubric.

These are posters (tabloid size) of each of the different Learning Skills. Each poster contains the title, along with descriptors to help the students understand what each one means.

This activity allows students to create a detailed map of Canada. It introduces mapping language and a rubric that can be used to assess the task.
