Teaching style

I believe that young children should be allowed to engage in open-ended activities and experiences. All children with disabilities should have the opportunity to be educated with typically-developing peers, to the maximum extent that is appropriate.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Dr. Berman is the recipient of several research grants and awards, such as The Naumberg Research Grant (199) and the President's Undergraduate Fellowship (1999). She is a Golden Key Honor Society member.

Dr. Shaana completed bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Biological Anthropology at University of California, Los Angeles. She received her master’s degree and teaching credential in Early Childhood Special Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Dr. Shaana obtained her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, with an emphasis in Educational Psychology, at University of Southern California. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has been called, "The Autism Whisperer,'' and the "Achievement Wizard."
