The activity is a scavenger hunt that practices the locations in the school while also exposing kids to forms of ir and estar. I’m including Step-by-step instructions set up instructions are included. Students conduct three different interviews with similar introductory level questions (What’s your name? How are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What’s up? etc.) Students should write out the answers for each interviewee as they hear them. Questions are asked in the 2nd person friendly/familiar (tú) form. Students should be guided to use the yo form or the 1st person depending on the jargon used in class for their answers.

Part 1: Students don't always recognize all the ways pronouns are used, let alone transferring this to their Spanish study. This activity uses beginner level sentences with pronouns left out. Students then identify what person the pronoun the refers to and then choose the appropriate type (subject, gusta (IOP), or prepositional)
Part 2: Students use the given words, with subject pronouns and names to formulate a sentence while transferring to using gusta and prepositional pronouns.

Interrogatives are notoriously difficult for students to internalize. I had good success showing that they already KNEW the words based on many questions that novice learners start with as part of their first phrases.
I created a SMART presentation where the questions they know are hidden and you display them after given students an opportunity to show themselves what they already know.
It currently shows Spanish questions and English translations, but is completely editable!
